Seattle Rally against U.S. Economic Blockade of Cuba

SUNDAY, MAY 29 from 11am to 1pm – at Greenlake Park, Seattle

The U.S. government’s 60-year economic war against Cuba continues, with the U.S. blockade/embargo against Cuba still in full effect. Help us spread the word that it’s time to stop punishing the Cuban people for making a revolution. With the pandemic, it is more important than ever to stop suffocating the people of the island.

On Sunday, May 29, 2022 the Seattle Cuba Friendship Committee will join with similar actions around the country.

BE PART OF A GROWING MOVEMENT! Many cities around the U.S. and the world are holding pickets and car caravans calling for an end to the blockade and for building Bridges of Love between the US and Cuba.

Please join us! SUNDAY May 29:
10:45 am: Park at the parking lot for Lower Woodland Park (or ride a Metro bus).
11 am: Meet and picket at the corner of East Greenlake Way North and West Greenlake Way North; an easy landmark is the Greenlake Pitch'n Putt (putting golf course).
12 noon: We’ll walk in a clockwise direction around the north side of Green Lake to the Greenlake Community Center, then continue clockwise around the south end of the lake to where we started (* approx 2.2 miles total / if you get tired, stop and rest and we’ll arrange for somebody to pick you up in their car after 1pm).
1 pm-ish: Event ends. Return to cars at the parking area.
We’ll bring our banner and signs.

* Masks are optional, but we will be socially distancing. Hope to see you there! *
