Please come and meet Cuban Ambassador to the United States, Lianys Torres Rivera, on May 29.
This will be a great opportunity to hear first-hand about the situation in Cuba, current relations between the United States and Cuba, and the prospects for improving that relationship.
During 2015-2017, Ambassador Torres was part of the Cuban delegation that met with members of the Obama Administration to negotiate the re-establishment of diplomatic relations with the U.S.. She has been a member of the Cuba-US Bilateral Commission, the Cuba-US Bilateral Economic Dialogue, and other Cuba-US bilateral dialogues on regulatory issues, human rights, human trafficking, the establishment of direct postal services, renewable energy and banking issues.
